Nintendo E3 Direct Reaction - Breath of the Wild 2 Dazzles and old favourites return

Nintendo wrapped up E3 2021 with a 40-minute presentation full of games we'll be able to play this year, and some coming later on. Watch and listen to me, Alex, and Dorrani dissect what is the most anticipated Nintendo Direct in months.

We're all Nintendo fans, but with different likes and dislikes, and the Direct definitely pleased some of us more than others.

If you didn't watch the video (why not?) it was a trim but bumper Direct, packed full of fan favourites, and the all-important end trailer of Breath of the Wild 2. Advance Wars is returning with a remake of the first two games, Wario Ware is getting a brand-new two-player game, Metroid gets its fifth original entry in the original 2D series in Metroid Dread, and Shin Megami Tensei V broke cover and looks great.

It was a Direct lacking for some, with no sign of Metroid Prime 4 or Bayonetta 3, and there was no new Mario game outside of a new Mario Party, another look at Mario Golf and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, but there was enough to be excited about. Many people will already be looking forward to 2022, where we should get Breath of the Wild 2 (although when in the year remains a mystery), along with Splatoon 3, Pokémon Legends Arceus, potentially a couple of other big hitters, and maybe even the rumoured Switch Pro.

But that's for next year. There's a lot coming to Switch this year, but what games are you most excited about.
